One of the victims in the deadly crash at a Westwood supermarket has been identified as 42-year-old mother Deris Renoj.
She was tragically killed at the 99 Ranch Market Thursday when an elderly woman smashed into the store after hitting a cyclist, leaving two others dead and injuring six more. Officials have said the driver’s actions appeared unintentional.
The two others killed in the crash, a 55-year-old man and a 30-year-old man, have not yet been identified, ABC 7 reported. They were all inside the store’s bakery when the crash happened.
Two of the three people killed were employees of the store, an Asian grocery store.
Loved ones who showed up at the chaotic scene Thursday were heard wailing loudly across the street from the crash.
The identity of the driver is still unknown. The approximately 70-year-old was driving a 2023 Mercedes Benz with California plates. She was medically evaluated at the scene, and it’s unclear whether a medical issue contributed to the crash.
“This does not seem to be of any ill intent,” Los Angeles Fire Department captain Erik Scott said. “[The crash] does not seem to be an intentional act, but rather being investigated, so far, as an accidental traffic collision.”
The Post obtained exclusive video of the crash, which featured several victims lying on the ground and one of the hood of the driver’s car.
The Los Angeles Police Department said it was “doing a thorough investigation to determine the surrounding circumstances that led up” to the wreck.
