Monster NYC dad told cops he was too drunk to remember beating 2-year-old son into coma: DA

A demented Queens dad charged with beating his 2-year-old son into a coma told cops he was too drunk to remember doing it — and failed to get the battered toddler medical help, prosecutors said in court Wednesday.

Dayvon Morrison, 30, allegedly beat the boy at a homeless shelter on Friday night, and left with the near-death tot the next day, authorities said.

The monster dad lugged his wounded son around the Big Apple for three days before a shocked witness noticed the boy’s severe injuries and called 911, according to prosecutors.

“If you’re gonna put me in cuffs, that’s fine,” Morrison allegedly told the responding officers. “I was drunk the other night.”

Prosecutors said the boy, identified by his mom as Maliek in an Instagram post, was not expected to survive — and that the attempted murder and assault charges against Morrison would be elevated if the tragic toddler dies.

“He woke up on the afternoon of Jan. 31 and observed the bruising on the victim’s face,” Assistant District Attorney Caitlyn Muldoon said at Morrison’s arraignment in Queens Criminal Court.

“On Feb. 1st, the defendant noticed that the victim’s condition had worsened, and still did not seek immediate medical attention,” Muldoon told Judge Lana Schlesinger.

Morrison allegedly took the injured boy and his other child to Maliek’s mom in East Harlem, but it wasn’t until 3:30 a.m. Monday that police were finally notified when someone called 911, the prosecutors said.

“When the police arrived he answered the door, and when they asked what happened he said, ‘Everything’s fine, everything’s fine,’ and they observed the victim’s condition and transported him to the hospital,” Muldoon said.

“He stated on scene that he must have done something to his son because he was the only one with him, but he can’t remember because he was too intoxicated,” the prosecutors said.

The toddler was “listed in likely-to-die condition” at Weill Cornell Medical Center, Muldoon and cops said.

The child suffered “a blown right pupil, a laceration to his liver, pelvic fracture” and has had “multiple brain bleeds,” Muldoon said, adding he has damage and swelling to his brain and a damaged brain stem.

Morrison showed no emotion during the hearing, and still wore the clothes he had on when he was arrested: green pants, a green hoodie and a dark down coat.

He was ordered held without bail, after his lawyer, Michael Doyle, chose not to ask for bail in the case “based on the allegations and based on my conversation with my client.”

Meanwhile, the boy’s mom posted on Instagram that her son was “fighting for his life in the ICU.”

“My baby boy, my Maliek,” she wrote. “How could someone do this to my little baby.”

She posted a heartbreaking photo of the toddler on life support with a piece of gauze taped to his head that read, “No Bone.”
