A Georgia mother of three was gunned down by her abusive boyfriend, who turned the gun on himself once cornered a day later, according to a sheriff — who recalled the “heart-wrenching” moment he broke the news to her children.

Nicole Karastury Elliot, 35, had just returned home from dropping two of her kids — ages 10 and 6 — at school Monday morning in Waverly Hall, Ga. when she was confronted by Andrew Roy Harris, 36, who was out on bond for a previous domestic violence charge, according to Harris County Sheriff Mike Jolley.

Her doorbell camera caught them fighting — and the mom begging for her life before she was shot in the head outside the home they had just moved into together.

“We heard voices on the Ring camera where she had yelled, ‘Don’t do it,’” the sheriff told reporters Tuesday. “We heard the gunfire and then we heard her call his name out, ‘Don’t, don’t do it.’”

Harris was found Tuesday at a Day’s Inn across state lines in Phenix City, Ala. — and shot himself in the head when officers were moving in to arrest him.

Before his cowardly ending, the killer appeared to want to “make the deputies kill him by suicide by cop,” Russell County Sherriff Heath Taylor said.

Elliott’s three children were not home at the time, police said. GoFundMe

Harris was instead found with a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head — holding the same gun used to kill Elliot.

The domestic dispute began Sunday night when Harris tried to take Elliot’s middle son’s medication to apparently “start abusing” it, Jolley said.

That argument spilled over into Monday morning when she returned home after taking her two sons, ages 10 and 6, to school. Her daughter, 14, had spent the night at her biological father’s house. None of the children were fathered by Harris, who had been dating the mom since 2024.

Sheriff Jolley said it was “heart-wrenching” having to break the news to Elliot’s three children.

“It’s never an easy thing to do, but when you tell three young kids that their mother is no longer here it’s heartbreaking,” he said.

Harris has previously faced several domestic violence charges in Georgia and Alabama for domestic violence, and was out on bond for a domestic incident when he shot Elliot, Taylor said.

Harris appears all over Elliot’s social media posts, smiling with her children. In May 2025, Elliot posted a list of all the things she loves about Harris to celebrate one year together. She also called him her “future husband.”

“Most of all I love doing life with you,” she wrote. “Cheers to our first year of memories together, and to many, many more.”
