The Cincinnati Reds haven't been very active this winter, with their early-December pursuit of Kyle Schwarber coming up short being the last big move the team was trying to make.
They added Gavin Lux in a recent three-team trade with the Tampa Bay Rays and the Los Angeles Angels. But that's not the only trade update on the Reds this winter.
According to MLB insider Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic, the Reds are fielding trading inquiries on all of their starting pitchers this winter.
Reds fielding trade calls on pitchers this winter
"Teams continue to reach out to the Cincinnati Reds about their starting pitchers, according to people briefed on their discussions," Rosenthal reports.
Getting trade calls on their starting pitching, the Reds are open to a move, which could entail Hunter Greene, Nick Lodolo, Andrew Abbott, or Brady Singer all being potentially available for trade.
While Cincinnati won't trade away Greene for anything less than a king's ransom, they're at least entertaining calls on their starting pitchers this winter.
For a team that made the postseason a year ago, trading away from their starting rotation doesn't make a lot of sense. But, with their solid depth, moving a starter to improve the roster as a whole wouldn't be the worst move.

Of course, sending away an ace like Greene wouldn't be the most popular move. But if they could improve the roster by landing some other good, young players, then it might be worth it.
Rosenthal does report that some rival teams don't believe the Reds are willing to move on from Greene, Lodolo, or Abbott, but a trade cannot be completely ruled out just yet.
The Reds have Chase Burns and a crop of young starters who could make a trade of a veteran starter more feasible. Nothing is imminent yet, but Reds fans should keep an eye on trade rumors this winter, as a starting pitcher might be on the move.
