The Boston Red Sox’s top priority this offseason is to find quality pitching. They are currently talking with multiple proven MLB starters, who are All-Stars and Cy Youngs. However, according to MLB insider Jim Bowden, the top international ace coming to the MLB, Roki Sasaki, would be someone the Sox should absolutely go for. He thinks Sasaki would best fit in Boston.
“He’s going to prioritize stability, lifestyle and a team’s track record with player development in making his decision…The Red Sox have a promising pitching program under Andrew Bailey and their leadership team of manager Alex Cora and chief baseball officer Craig Breslow, along with minority owner Theo Epstein working behind the scenes, could provide a solid foundation for Sasaki.”
Sasaki announcing his departure from the NPB to come to America has sent the league into a craze, and Boston should do everything they can to sign the man.
The Sox already showed a lot of interest when Sox CBO Craig Breslow personally went with the scouts to see Sasaki pitch, so they should be all-in.
Sasaki could be the future ace for Boston for at least 15 years, and pair him with the Big Four, the Sox could have a dynasty in the making.
