The Minnesota Twins have shipped closer Jhoun Duran to the Philadelphia Phillies.

Philadelphia is in the middle of a competitive National League East race, where just half game separates them and the New York Mets.
Duran is 6-4 on the season, with a 2.01 earned run average. He has saved 16 of 18 opportunities this season. In his career, he has 74 saves in 83 chances. He has been with the Twins since his debut in 2022.
The 27-year-old has had 23+ saves in each of his last two seasons in the league. In 2023, Duran and the Twins reached the postseason, and he was able to pick up two saves in the series, and did not allow a run through five innings pitched.

His last outing with the Twins came on Monday when he picked up a win over the Red Sox. He allowed a run in the top of the ninth inning to blow the save, but his offense picked him up win a run in the bottom of the ninth. He walked two batters and allowed a hit in the inning. He did not pitch in the blowout loss on Wednesday.
In exchange for Duran, the Twins have acquired Eduardo Tati and Mick Abel. Those are the Phillies' fourth and sixth-ranked prospects.
Minnesota is now set to head to Cleveland and Detroit for the next six games. For the Phillies, following their game on Wednesday night at the White Sox, they will host the Tigers for three starting on Friday.
