The players of the WNBA have spoken, and it seems there's a new MVP in town: the Minnesota Lynx's Napheesa Collier.
More: Aces' A'ja Wilson no longer considered WNBA's best player
According to the results of The Athletic's annual anonymous player poll, 17 players named Collier as the best player in the league. Wilson received 15 votes, and the Liberty's Breanna Stewart claimed two of her won. Alyssa Thomas and Allisha Gray each received one vote.
"She has had an incredible last couple years. She just hasn’t quite gotten there. Last year she had an MVP season, but A’ja had an insane season, and I think (Collier) is continuing to grow this year," one player said.
The outlet did not poll any rookies, and spoke to nearly 40 players in total. The Athletic also noted that players from all 13 teams in the league took part in the poll.
The first day of results also revealed players named Thomas as the player who talks the most trash. As one player put it, "Everyone knows AT talks s—-. I don’t even guard her, and she talks s— to me."
