Inside the Most Expensive Reality Real Estate
The real estate community is in mourning after a devastating tragedy.
Sara Burack, a real estate agent who appeared in the Netflix series Million Dollar Beach House, died following a hit-and-run accident in New York, Southampton Town Police confirmed on June 19. She was 40.
Officers received a 911 call in the early hours of Thursday about a “woman lying” on Montauk Highway in Hampton Bays, a hamlet located on Long Island, authorities said in a press release obtained by NBC News. Upon arrival, police observed the woman, later identified as Burack, “unconscious with serious injuries from apparently being struck by a vehicle that fled the scene.”
According to the release, Burack was transported to Stony Brook University Hospital where she was later pronounced dead, per NBC News. Southampton Town Police also confirmed they’ve launched a manhunt for the suspected driver.
E! News has reached out to authorities for comment and has not heard back.
Burack first made waves on Netflix’s Million Dollar Beach House, a reality show that followed a group of realtors from Nest Seekers International—a real estate firm located in Westhampton—who secured luxurious listings in the New York area. But before her brief stint on the series, which ran for one season in late 2020, she had been part of the agency for over a decade.
“My family has a commercial construction material sales business that I spent many years of my life working for,” Burack told Hamptons.com in August 2020. “I have always been intrigued by real estate projects and decided to become a broker after my experience as a summer property manager in the summer house I would rent.”
And while she briefly branched out and sold properties in Manhattan, she was always interested in building her name in the Hamptons.
“I have been spending half the year in the Hamptons for the past 11 years,” she continued. “It was only natural to turn my love for real estate into a blossoming career.”
