Miles McBride wants to return as soon as possible after his surgery to help the Knicks

The New York Knicks have been stellar recently, but they have been lacking depth behind Jalen Brunson. Miles McBride has been the primary backup for a while, but he is now sidelined with a long-term injury after undergoing surgery.

This also led to the Knicks pushing for the trade to get Jose Alvarado, who could be a big-time contributor for the Knicks. He is the energetic guard they need, who could contribute on both ends of the floor.

McBride is ready to recover as quickly as he can

The Knicks have some of the most talented players in the league, but their point guard depth is quite lackluster. Brunson is one of the league's best players, but he still plays heavy minutes.

In a jam-packed schedule, Brunson can get tired, which means players like McBride become more important. Now that he is out injured, the Knicks know that is one of their biggest weaknesses moving forward.

For the next two months, the Knicks will be fine with a point guard rotation of Brunson and Alvarado. Of course, they will still need more depth beyond that, so McBride's arrival when the postseason rolls around will be valuable.

"God is good! I will be back better and willing to do WHATEVER is needed to help this team win. Thanks for all the support and well wishes. God Bless," McBride said on his X account.

It will be a challenging path ahead for the Knicks, but they are ready to keep competing. They have one of the best squads in the league, so they can compensate for the lack of depth in the point guard position.
