The New York Knicks got a massive win on Wednesday night against the Denver Nuggets in double overtime. It was one of the most impressive results of the season, as Jalen Brunson continued to be the superstar guard for the Knicks.
He had another standout night with 42 points, eight rebounds, and nine assists. Considering this was the second night of a back-to-back, this was even more impressive from the Knicks' resident superstar.
Brown considers Brunson a leading MVP candidate
Knicks head coach Mike Brown is always supportive of his players. This was evident with his history with LeBron James with the Cleveland Cavaliers and De'Aaron Fox during his time with the Sacramento Kings.
Now, he has another superstar on his roster with Brunson. Brown has always billed his system to be centered on Brunson, and it appears that the standout guard continues to exceed expectations.

Brunson has been doing this all season long, which is why Brown continues to gush about him. In a lot of games, Brunson is the sole reason why the Knicks won. Brown knows that, which is why he is campaigning for him as an MVP candidate.
"That's what an MVP candidate does. On a big stage, he showed why he should be mentioned as one of the first guys, if anybody's talking about MVP candidates, he should be one of the first ones mentioned," Brown said after beating the Nuggets.
Of course, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander of the Oklahoma City Thunder is the leading candidate for the MVP award. Brunson is not being mentioned enough for Brown and the Knicks fans, as he is a true superstar who is carrying his team.
The Knicks are still on fire with an eight-game winning streak. They are bound to be contenders moving forward, and Brunson will be there to spearhead the charge.
