Mike Brown admits that Mikal Bridges is struggling, but wants a good collective effort

The New York Knicks have been a generally good team this season. On Sunday, they struggled against the Golden State Warriors, a disappointing performance that head coach Mike Brown disliked.

It has become a tradition for Brown to name a Defensive Player of the Game this season, but he was not in the mood to give one on Sunday. He was also asked about specific players' performances, including the inconsistent Mikal Bridges.

Brown wants better performances from the Knicks, not just Bridges

Even if they are third in the Eastern Conference standings, the Knicks are unhappy with how they are playing recently. The performance against the Warriors was disappointing, especially since they still don't have Stephen Curry.

Struggling against a shorthanded team is not a good look, especially when the Knicks weren't playing the best defense. That is what annoyed Brown, as the energy was way off from his team.

Bridges is a player who has struggled this season to be consistent. Against the Warriors, he only played 21 minutes and scored only seven points.

Considering that there were high expectations for him, his performances have not been lighting the world on fire. Some people are suggesting his struggles with feeling fresh and the possibility of the consecutive games played streak weighing on him.

"We all have to play better. I mean, it's no secret that Mikal has not shot the ball well. He's given us life at times. I thought he was great in Indiana, on both sides of the floor. It's not just Mikal, it's us collectively as a group," Brown said about Bridges and the rest of the Knicks.

It will be a challenging way to keep winning games, but the Knicks need to find solutions on the fly. There are only a few games left in the season, so they have to be prepared ahead of the postseason.
