What’s unfolded the past few weeks is easily the best argument for keeping this Knicks team together.
They’ve shown a collective ability to rise to the occasion, whether as favorites against the Pistons or heavy underdogs versus the Celtics. It’s hard to teach resiliency. As Paul Pierce once said with a quote that will live in my brain forever, “You can’t buy this DNA at Costco. You can’t buy this at Walgreens.”
And while there’s instances of gambling on one playoff performance utterly backfiring (ahem, Jerome James), the Knicks were supposedly built for the long haul even before this playoff run.
At least according to James Dolan.
