Olympic skier Mikaela Shiffrin took to Instagram on Wednesday, April 2nd, to share exciting news about an initiative that she’s taking part in for an amazing cause.
The 30-year-old athlete shared a black and white photograph of herself dressed in a fur coat and snow boots while posing in a frigid-looking, snow-covered barn. An American flag hung hangs lol behind her as a nod to the incredible, record-breaking success Shiffrin has had representing the United States in the Olympics.
Her fiancé, Norwegian alpine skier Aleksander Aamodt Kilde, can be spotted sitting stoically in the background of the pic.

Shiffrin previously shared that she is working in partnership with Share Winter Foundation. TheThis foundation helps to raise money to provide children with access to snow sports like skiing and snowboarding.
Shiffrin explained that this stunning image, entitled “National Treasure,” was captured by photographer and philanthropist David Yarrow. As part of an auction being held to raise money for this important campaign, Yarrow has donated the large format version of this special edition print.
According to the auction’s website, the photograph is valued at a whopping $50,000 USD. Bids are still coming in, and the auction will remain open until April 3 at 8:00pm EDT.
“Thank you, David, for playing such an important role in introducing snow sports to children who would otherwise not have access to sports,” Shiffrin wrote.
“An amazing cause. We had such a laugh with you and Aleksander in Norway - a real honour. Love and respect,” responded Yarrow.
