Shaun Weiss is lending a helping hand to a fellow child actor.
The Mighty Ducks alum offered to help Tylor Chase after a heartbreaking video showed the Ned’s Declassified School Survival Guide actor living on the streets in Riverside, Calif.
“I have received many messages about Tylor Chase,” Shaun, 47, said in a Dec. 22 Instagram video. “I reached out to some friends of mine, and we have a bed for him at a detox. We have a place for him to go and get long term treatment, thanks to my buddy Mike Jordan at Eleven 11 Recovery. All we need to do is find him. I’m not in Los Angeles or I would go look for him myself.”
The D2 star—who also struggled with being unhoused amid his road to sobriety over the last decade—then pleaded for those who have seen Tylor, 36, to contact him “so we can get him some help in time for the holiday.”
In a Dec. 20 social media post, Tylor was approached on a street by a camera operator, who asked if he was previously an actor on Disney Channel. Tylor then clarified that he was on Nickelodeon’s Ned’s Declassified, in which he starred as student Martin Qwerly alongside Devon Werkheiser, Daniel Curtis Lee and Lindsay Shaw throughout the sitcom’s three-season run from 2004 to 2007.
But Shaun isn’t the only celebrity who has spoken out about Tylor following the viral video. Devon—who played the titular Ned Bigby in the series—admitted that “it is heartbreaking to see” his former costar in this light.
“Tylor was a sensitive, sweet, and kind kid,” he told TMZ. "I haven’t seen Tylor in almost 20 years since the show ended. Anyone who has dealt with severe addiction and deep mental health issues knows it’s an unbelievably challenging situation if they don’t want help.”

“My only hope is that from this exposure, someone with real understanding and resources can step in, get Tylor into treatment, and help him get back on track,” he added. “We all want a happy ending.”
