Ed Orgeron's name has been linked to some high-profile college football programs in 2025. The Arkansas Razorbacks are the latest team to show interest in the one-time national champion, and college football fans are reacting to the news.

Here's what CFB fans said after On3 Sports entered into communication with the Razorbacks.

A fan said, "Mmmmm, might want to rethink that one Arkansas."

Another added, "Boosters better hide their wives!" One wrote, "As an Arkansas fan, please no. He’s not the right guy to completely turn around a program into a contender. Give me James Franklin or gruden"

However, some comments seemed to fancy the idea of Orgeron returning to the college football scene.

A fan wrote, "He'd be great for FSU as well" Another added, "He’s meant to be an SEC head coach" One chimed in, saying, "Let’s go!!!"

Ed Orgeron hasn't coached since he departed from LSU after the 2021 season. The defensive-minded head coach led the Tigers to a national championship in 2019, but ended his tenure with a 6-6 record during the 2021 season.

Orgeron indicated his interest in returning to coaching shortly after the LSU Tigers fired Brian Kelly. He might not be high up the LSU shortlist, but he's currently on the watch list of some other big-time collegiate programs.

Ed Orgeron is attracting interest from another school

The Arkansas Razorbacks might need to act fast lest they miss out on the chance to sign Ed Orgeron. That's because Oregon State has been credited with interest in acquiring the 2019 Associated Press Coach of the Year.

According to FanSided, the Oregon State Beavers are also giving Orgeron a look in the current coaching hiring cycle. The Beavers are looking to hire an elite coach as they prepare for a move to the Pac-12 in 2026.

Ed Orgeron was the mastermind behind LSU's iconic 15-0 season and national championship victory. He proved his recruiting prowess, ability to listen to players, and impressive array of talents, which contributed to his success. The dream of the Oregon State faithful is to convince the national championship winner to come and inspire ahead of the 2026 season.

The Oregon State Beavers are currently 2-8 for the season. They'll look to end the campaign on a respectable note and channel their efforts into next year's big move to the Pac-12.
