Net addition

In August, equity mutual funds added around 19.53 lakh folios taking the total number of folios at 17.32 crore compared to 17.12 crore in July. In the same period, only four new funds were launched. Here is a detailed breakup (Source: AMFI)

Mid cap funds

Mid cap funds have added around 4.36 lakh folios on a monthly basis taking the total number of folios to 2.30 crore in August compared to 2.25 crore in July. Only one new fund is launched in this category.

Over 3 lakh addition

Flexi cap funds and small cap funds added around 3.89 lakh and 3.80 lakh folios respectively. Only one new flexi cap fund is launched whereas no new small cap fund is launched in the said category.

Multi cap funds

Multi cap funds added around 2.24 lakh folios on a monthly basis taking the total number of folios to 1.05 crore in August compared to 1.03 crore in July. No new fund is launched in this category.

Large & mid cap funds

Large & mid cap funds added around 1.80 lakh folios on a monthly basis taking the total number of folios to 1.26 crore in August compared to 1.25 crore in July. No new fund is launched in this category.

Sectoral and thematic funds

Sectoral and thematic funds added around 1.68 lakh folios on a monthly basis taking the total number of folios to 3.19 crore in August compared to 3.17 crore in July. Only two new funds are launched in this category.

Large cap funds

Large cap funds added around 95,102 folios on a monthly basis taking the total number of folios to 1.65 crore in August compared to 1.64 crore in July. No new fund is launched in this category.

Three more witness addition

Value/contra funds, focused funds, and dividend yield funds added 65,982, 26,468, and 937 folios respectively. No new fund was launched in all three categories.

Outlier

ELSS funds saw a decline in folios by 13,765 on a monthly basis taking the total folios to 1.68 crore in August. No new fund in this category was launched.
