A Rolling Stones' biopic could be coming after all. Rock icon Mick Jagger is intrigued by the possibility of a Rolling Stones biopic, sources say — after the Beatles are getting four films released at once in 2028 by director Sam Mendes.
Reports have said in the past that Jagger was particularly down on doing any kind of autobiography, even after his bandmate Keith Richards‘ massively successful book, “Life,” hit shelves in 2010.
But a source tells Page Six Hollywood that Jagger, 83, has been “sincerely thinking about” some kind of film or TV project on the Stones — and that Mendes’ project piqued his interest.
According to a pal: “Mick is actively thinking about what a movie project could be for the Stones. Being involved would allow him to have a voice in the project and even put across things that would be important to him. The Beatles’ movies certainly moved the dial for him. In the past he has always shied away from projects like this because he has never been one to explain much about what happened over six decades. But times change and opportunities arise and at the very least there have been discussions.”
Jagger has of course been involved in many films and TV projects before as a producer, actor, and composer, including via his own label, Jagged Films. He’s also participated in docs on his band, including “Shine a Light” — the 2008 concert film by Martin Scorsese — and Brett Morgen‘s “Crossfire Hurricane,” which was nominated for an Emmy in 2013.
