Mick Jagger’s fiancée, Melanie Hamrick, said she was “attacked” outside an upscale London nightclub, saying it left her “shaken, sad and heartbroken.”
Hamrick, who at 38 is 44 years younger than her rocker beau, revealed on her Instagram late Tuesday that she was “grabbed … from behind” outside of the exclusive Annabel’s private club in London’s upscale Mayfair neighborhood.
“This is incredibly hard to share — but I was physically attacked,” the former professional ballerina said in a since-deleted Instagram story.
“I’m so thankful to my friends for protecting me,” she added.
“Two people grabbed me from behind and thank god for good people who stepped in to help me,” she continued.
“I’m shaken, sad and heartbroken that people can treat each other this way.”
The attack appeared to be an opportunistic mugging, the Sun reported.
Hamrick only revealed last year that she and Rolling Stone’s rocker Jagger had been engaged for several years, despite swirling rumors about the tight-lipped couple.
Jagger, 82, met Hamrick’s current girlfriend in February 2014 at a Rolling Stones concert in Tokyo. Hamrick, who was 26 at the time, got tickets to the show as an American Ballet Theatre dancer.
The following month, Jagger’s girlfriend of 13 years, fashion designer L’Wren Scott, died by suicide. Jagger started dating Hamrick that summer.
They welcomed Jagger’s eighth child, Deveraux, two years later in 2016.
Hamrick retired from the American Ballet Theater in 2019 and has since started a career as an erotic novelist. She, Jagger and Deveraux spend much of their time in France, according to People Magazine.
Hamrick has said she’s unbothered by the age difference between her husband — or those who criticize it.
“Everyone’s going to have their opinion,” she told the Sunday Times last year. “If you think about others’ opinions, no matter where you are in life, you’re going to have a problem and you’re going to analyze it.”
