Bryce Underwood's hype is a lot like what Alabama Crimson Tide wide receiver Ryan Williams faced last season, being 17 and all, barely old enough to even sniff a collegiate field.
But as his first season as commander of Sherrone Moore's offense, he's handled it all like a seasoned pro, winning over the Ann Arbor fanbase with his pleasant personality and work ethic.
And with that work ethic, the freshman has seen a massive bulk in his physical physique, adding 15 pounds of muscle through the offseason, giving him plenty of strength to take on the intense competition that awaits him in the Big 10 conference.
Jerred Johnson of Michigan Wolverines On SI even made a claim that if Underwood could grow a slight amount and gain a few more pounds, his physicality could match that of one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL today.
"If he were to grow just another inch and put on a meager ten more pounds, he would be a mirror image of Buffalo Bills great and reigning 2024 NFL MVP, Josh Allen," Johnson wrote. "With his talent and gifted arm paired with physical traits that put him on another echelon compared to his peers, Underwood could truly become an unstoppable force."
Underwood and the Wolverines open up their second season under Moore at "The Big House" on August 30, hosting the New Mexico Lobos.
