The Green Bay Packers received devastating news on Sunday as All-Pro defensive end Micah Parsons tore his ACL. It was one of the most notable injuries of the week, along with Patrick Mahomes’ season-ending knee injury.

Parsons, who signed a four-year, $188 million contract with Green Bay in August, suffered got hurt in the third quarter against the Denver Broncos. He tried to get to Bo Nix; however, a quick change of direction led to an awkward landing, prematurely ending his campaign.

During the "Monday Night Football" pregame coverage, the ESPN crew discussed Parsons’ injury and Nix’s impressive performance versus the Packers. Analyst and former NFL defensive back Ryan Clark explained that Nix’s agility and evasiveness were key factors that led to Parsons’ ACL tear.

"Micah Parsons is hurt because of Bo Nix," Clark said. "And I'm not saying that it's one of those things that's Bo Nix's fault, but the violence in which Micah Parsons had to chase Bo Nix the entire second half was extremely evident.

"You could see Micah Parsons was the one person who was in pursuit of Bo Nix the entire day, and on the play he was hurt, Bo Nix attempted to get outside. You could see Micah redirect in order to keep him in the pocket. And it's sad you lose a great player like Micah Parsons, but it was because of the effort that he needed to give to get to Denver's quarterback."

Clark argued that the strain of chasing Nix was a big factor behind Parsons’ injury. He pointed to the play where Nix scrambled to his right for a throw to Marvin Mims. While reacting and trying to make the tackle, Parsons’ knee collapsed due to the strain.

Nix completed 23 of 34 passes for 302 yards and four touchdowns.

The Packers' Super Bowl hopes have taken a hit with Micah Parsons' injury

The Packers’ dreams of a deep playoff run took a huge hit with Micah Parsons’ season-ending injury. The pass rusher was expected to redefine the team’s defensive edge, and his sudden absence leaves a void that will be hard to fill.

His arrival came with high expectations and a hefty price tag, and the team must find a way to navigate the final weeks without its defensive star.

Green Bay bet big on Parsons, giving up Kenny Clark and two first-round picks. He delivered in the 14 games he has played, racking up 41 tackles, 26 quarterback hits and 12.5 sacks. The Packers are facing a daunting task with Parsons sidelined.

The burden falls on Rashan Gary, Lukas Van Ness and Kingsley Enagbare to rise to the occasion and step up in his absence.
