Miami QB Carson Beck has a lot of work to do this summer

Cam Ward is off to the NFL, but the Miami Hurricanes did bring in one of the top transfer QBs in the nation in Carson Beck. A standout at Georgia, he comes to the Hurricanes with a winning pedigree and a lot of success.

What he unfortunately does not have is a lot of experience with his new team. He has not spent much of his time at Miami playing with teammates to develop chemistry with his pass-catchers. he has to do that now, which makes him a player with quite a bit to prove this summer in CBS Sports' Chris Hummer's eyes.

"Beck is one of the highest, if not the highest, paid players in college football with a NIL deal of over $3 million a year. He's the player Miami banked its 2025 hopes upon," Hummer said.

"He also really didn't throw much in the spring while recovering from UCL surgery," the insider added. "That means fall camp is the first time, at least in organized team activities, that Beck will take command. That's a challenge given one of the tasks in front of him is developing rhythm and timing with an unproven group of Hurricane wide receivers."

The Hurricanes have a good program that was carried by the eventual number one NFL pick to a very respectable bowl game, but they now want to go higher. Beck has been tasked with taking them there, but he has yet to showcase anything for the team, and the clock has been ticking.
