Miami Dolphins predicted to land All-Pro pass-catcher in free agency

It remains to be seen who the starting quarterback will be for the Miami Dolphins in 2026. Regardless of who that person is, though, the Dolphins will want to surround him with playmakers.

Playmakers aren’t limited to wide receivers or running backs, either. One could come in the form of a tight end.

Dolphins predicted to add Kyle Pitts in free agency

In a recent article for Bleacher Report, Alex Kay predicts that the Dolphins will land Atlanta Falcons tight end Kyle Pitts in free agency over the offseason.

Pitts is fresh off of the first All-Pro nod of his career after catching 88 passes for 928 yards and five touchdowns for Atlanta in 2025.

“While there are plenty of other question marks for the new Miami regime led by head coach Jeff Hafley to sort out, getting a potential game-changer like Pitts in the lineup could pay dividends,” Kay wrote.

“Regardless of whether Tua Tagovailoa, Quinn Ewers or someone else ends up starting under center for Miami in 2026, Pitts should emerge as a favored target thanks to his excellent playmaking skills and ability to create mismatches all over the field.”

Pitts, 25, has been a polarizing player because his production hasn’t matched his talent level for much of his career. He was named to the Pro Bowl after surpassing 1,000 receiving yards as a rookie in 20221, but he finished with fewer than 700 yards in each of the next three seasons before bouncing back in '25.

The tight end position probably isn’t a top priority for the Dolphins this offseason, but they could certainly use an upgrade there. Miami’s most productive tight end last season was Greg Dulcich, who had 26 receptions for 335 yards.

Plus, while Pitts is a tight end by position, he could operate more as a wide receiver in certain situations given his skill set.
