The past seven seasons for the New York Mets have seen first baseman Pete Alonso challenge Yankees outfielder Aaron Judge for the title of New York's "home run king," with Alonso breaking the Mets' all-time home run record previously held by Darryl Strawberry.

And with Alonso staring free agency in the face after the 2025 season, many are wondering what the future looks like for their star first baseman.

But if they find anything out, it likely won't be straight from Alonso himself.

Alonso Again Shook Off Questions Regarding His Future

As the Mets' fight to keep their playoff hopes alive, Alonso was again asked about 2026 and onwards, and his answer was yet again one to leave Mets fans on the edge of their seats.

Alonso has 37 home runs with 122 runs batted in and a .274 batting average through 156 games in 2025.
