Mets' Nolan McLean threw a near-impossible 3,399 RPM curveball

Nolan McLean is simply a different kind of athlete.

The New York Mets' young right-handed pitcher went to Oklahoma State to play quarterback and to be a two-way player for the baseball team.

Now just a pitcher for the Mets, he's filthy.

On Tuesday night, for example, he threw a curveball at 3,399 RPM.

That's revolutions per minute, and for the uninitiated, that's an absurd amount.

Check it out, you'll see:

McLean is filthy on a number of levels. This breaking ball is just one of them.

He also has a tailing fastball at nearly 100 miles per hour that moves more than a foot in the opposite direction.

Some people complain about how many strikeouts there are in modern baseball, but consider these pitches.

Hitting is hard.

Especially against Nolan McLean.
