The New York Mets are tied with the Philadelphia Phillies for the worst record in Major League Baseball. A huge reason why the team has struggled has been the inconsistent play from the lineup.
And one of the reasons for the lineup's lackluster production has been the injuries. First, it was Juan Soto, and now, it's Francisco Lindor.
According to USA Today's Bob Nightengale, things might be a lot more concerning based on the latest rumor for Lindor, which has the superstar shortstop out until potentially late June with his calf injury.

"The Mets have not provided a timetable for Francisco Lindor's calf strain, but are privately expecting him to be out until weeks into June," Nightengale reports.
For a player as important to the Mets' success this season as Lindor, this is not the kind of update the Mets were hoping for.
It's known that this injury is going to be more serious than Soto's, which forced the $765 million outfielder out for a little over two weeks.

But hearing that Lindor might be out until late June is a very concerning update. At a 9-19 record, the Mets look likely to plummet even further with one of their stars out for some time.
Lindor's return might not be for a while, as a late June date might be when he's back and ready to play for the Mets.
It's unofficial and just a rumor, but Nightengale's report suggests the Mets will be without Lindor for two full months. After their poor start to the year, that's a lot longer than the Mets can afford to be without Lindor.
