The New York Mets finally put their 12-game losing streak in the rear-view mirror, with a big win over the Minnesota Twins on Wednesday night.
Juan Soto was back in the lineup, and the Mets looked to have finally put the bad vibes behind them. But that didn't last long, as Francisco Lindor sustained an injury to his calf that had the team concerned.
And as Underdog MLB shared on Twitter/x, those fears weren't unfounded. Carlos Mendoza revealed the injury was worse than expected, and that Lindor is going to miss "quite a bit."
Mets get brutal Francisco Lindor news amid calf issue
"Mendoza: Francisco Lindor (calf) will be out for 'quite a bit.' Injury is more serious than Juan Soto's was," Underdog MLB shared.
Lindor was struggling a bit this season, but he was recently starting to get hot. He hit a home run on Tuesday night and went 2-for-2 before this calf injury.
The Mets just won their first game in a few weeks, but the celebration didn't last long, with Lindor landing on the injured list with this calf issue.

And now, the Mets' shortstop is going to miss a lot of time due to this calf issue. Mendoza, noting that it's worse than Soto's injury, does point to an extended absence.
Soto played on April third, but didn't play again until 19 days later on the 22nd of April. If Lindor is to miss more than that 19-day window due to this calf issue, he might be out until mid-to-late May.
This is some exceptionally tough news for the Mets. After finally snapping the brutal 12-game losing streak, the Mets were dealt some bad news, as Lindor is not only going to miss time on the injured list, but it's going to be a bit longer than expected.
