Francisco Alvarez is on fire.
It seems pretty safe to expect the New York Mets' young catcher to return to the major leagues after the All-Star break.
Because right now, Alvarez can't stop hitting home runs.
He crushed a shot to dead center on Sunday down at Triple-A Syracuse. It was off top-10 MLB prospect Andrew Painter of the Phillies organization.
Alvarez has now hit eight home runs in his last 13 games, including a two-HR game earlier this weekend.

Alvarez is far from perfect. But he's the best catcher in the entire Mets organization right now, and he's also the catcher of the future.
It doesn't make sense to let him keep using up his good swings on Triple-A pitching. Get him up to the majors after the break and let Alvarez continue his groove with the big Mets.
