It was a special All-Star break for Brett Baty.

While the Mets third baseman wasn’t in Atlanta for any Midsummer Classic festivities, he used his days off from baseball to propose to his now-fiancée Anna Sprys.

Baty and Sprys made a collaborative Instagram post Wednesday evening with photographer Jordan Simone, who helped capture the proposal.

“Forever with my best friend,” the post was captioned.

The couple received many congratulations in the comments, including from Katia Lindor, Mets All-Star Francisco Lindor’s wife.

“Congrats!!! So happy for you guys,” she wrote.

The pictures featured Baty getting down on one knee and popping the question on the beach in Cape May, N.J., before loved ones later came to celebrate and were photographed alongside the couple.

The couple’s relationship has been fairly private outside of periodic Instagram posts, but they have been together since June of 2022, as Baty made a first anniversary post on June 12, 2023.

While Baty hails from Texas, Sprys is originally from Pittsburgh.

Sprys attended Binghamton University, where she played volleyball from 2019 to 2023 as a 6-foot middle blocker.

Baty played 129 games across 2021 and 2022 for the Mets’ Double-A affiliate, which plays in Binghamton.

Sprys was a team captain for Binghamton’s volleyball team and played five seasons while earning an MBA with a concentration in Marketing as well as a Bachelor of Science in Accounting.

She currently works as a marketing coordinator.

Baty has played 75 games so far this season for New York, posting a .226 batting average with a .685 OPS.
