Inside Met Gala 2025: Every Major Celebrity Moment You Missed

Andrew Garfield didn't mind swinging by on Met Gala night.

Even though the Amazing Spider-Man star wasn't at the May 5 fashion event himself, he braved the crowds inside New York City's The Mark Hotel—the basecamp for many Met Gala guests before their red carpet walk—to meet up with rumored girlfriend Monica Barbaro afterwards. As seen in an Instagram video captured by Cosmopolitan, Andrew—casually dressed in a graphic tee, striped button-down short, dark pants, navy baseball cap and sunglasses—wandered around the lobby while waiting for the A Complete Unknown actress's return from an after-party.

Upon seeing Monica, who had changed from her Dior skirt suit into a black see-through gown for the late-night bash, he smiled and greeted her with a big hug. She then rubbed his back, before affectionately giving the hem of his shirt a squeeze.

Needless to say, the sweet sighting only fueled dating speculation surrounding the pair.

"MAY THIS KIND OF LOVE ATTACK ME AT 3AM," one Instagram user quipped, while another wrote in the comments section, "Man please let them be together forever they both deserve it."

But this wasn't the first time Andrew, 41, and Monica, 34, were spotted together on a star-studded night. In January, the two were photographed hanging out at a W Magazine party in Hollywood, before they were seen leaving Vanity Fair's Oscars after-party together two months later.

Neither have publicly spoken out about the romance rumors, though it comes as no surprise since Andrew—who has been romantically linked to Emma Stone, Alyssa Miller and Dr. Kate Tomas—is notoriously private about his love life.

As he put it to Esquire last year, "I have never, and I won't ever, speak about or confirm or deny anything about my personal life with anyone, ever.”

While he remains tight-lipped about his relationship status with Monica, read on to see all the celebrity couples who were open with their love on the 2025 Met Gala red carpet.
