Mercedes (Texas) has enjoyed an undefeated season so far, two seasons after winning just two games.

The Tigers want to continue their roll as they take on San Antonio Alamo Heights in the area round of the 5A Division II playoffs, with the game taking place Thursday night in Corpus Christi.

Mercedes has won all 11 of its games, and in their last three games, the Tigers have scored at least 56 points, including a 65-29 win against Roma in last week’s bi-districts.

Alamo Heights has also enjoyed a solid season so far. The Mules enter Thursday’s game at 10-1, with its lone loss a two-point decision to Boerne in late September. Since then, the Mules have won six straight games, the latest a 60-0 whitewash against Corpus Christi Carroll in the bi-district round.
