Mercedes Moné to introduce forgotten AEW star as her new ally following recent losses? Looking at the chances

Mercedes Moné has found herself in a pickle, as she has gone through several major setbacks in AEW during this month alone. Out of desperation, could she look for an ally and bring back a forgotten star?

Nyla Rose has not been seen on TV since November 2024 during an episode of Rampage. Her last match for the promotion was a dark match in December last year, and she has been on the independent circuit since. Nyla is one of the few individuals who is not repulsed by Mercedes, as she even replies to her on social media. Rose has even helped her search for titles to chase at one point.

The CEO has only formed an official alliance with one person during her time in AEW: Kamille. This did not work as The Brickhouse could not handle Moné's constant demands. Now that she is in a desperate situation, she could look for another ally who can guarantee she keeps her hold on her remaining 10 belts, and possibly capture some more.

As long as Rose can provide the support Mercedes needs and help support her ambitions, this could end up becoming an effective partnership. This would also give the former AEW Women's World Champion much more exposure on TV, so she would also benefit from this.

Update following Nyla Rose's absence from AEW

It has been more than a year since Nyla Rose was seen on TV, and there has not been any indication of her imminent return.

Last week, Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select reported during their Q&A session regarding information he had about the 43-year-old. He mentioned that despite asking those within the company, he was still in the dark regarding her absence. He then criticized how the promotion often pulls its stars from TV and no longer showcases them.

“I don’t know that Nyla knows why she hasn’t been on TV for a year. I don’t know why she hasn’t been. People that I talk to in the company don’t know why.... This is one of the biggest criticisms I have of AEW – is that people will just be pulled from TV and just forgotten.” [H/T - Ringside News]

It remains to be seen if this will end up changing soon, with 2026 coming around the corner. Nyla Rose has been a part of the company since the beginning, so it is only right that she should be utilized in any way.
