Megyn Kelly blames DEI-obsessed fire department leaders for sending unfit, ‘obese’ lesbians to wildfires: ‘We want a strong man to rescue us’

Megyn Kelly angrily accused the “overweight, out-of-shape women” running the Los Angeles fire department of being so obsessed with diversity they’re sending “obese” lesbians to rescue those trapped by the deadly wildfires.

The conservative firebrand used her podcast Monday to claim the response to the historically destructive wildfires was hindered by the department prioritizing diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) — saying it is one place she’d actually support transgender women replacing biological ones.

“I believe I speak for all females in Los Angeles when I say, we want a strong man to rescue us,” Kelly said bluntly. “That’s what we want. Do we ask for too much?”

Kelly blamed the department’s woes on its female leadership. There are only three women on the LAFD’s 14-person leadership team — Training and Support Bureau Commander Jaime Brown, Deputy Chief in Equity and Human Resources Bureau Kristine Larson, and most importantly top boss Kristin Crowley, a 22-year veteran and the department’s first LGBTQ fire chief.

“These three women who are all at the top there … I mean honestly, I’m not trying to be mean, but they’re obese. These are overweight, out-of-shape women,” she said.

“The last thing I want to see if I’m in a burning building is a), a woman, and b), an obese woman,” she continued.

“Who takes comfort in ‘I’m going to die, but it’s in the presence of an obese lesbian’? This is ridiculous.”

Kelly suggested that if the LAFD is so intent on diversity, it would be an ideal role for transgender women.

“If they’re so intent on getting women into the fire department, why can’t we get the so-called ‘trans women?” asked Kelly, a regular critic of trans athletes in female sports.

“Let’s get the fake women who want to invade our sports and redirect them to the fire department. That would be a great place for you to break barriers as a quote ‘woman’ in the firefighting realm where you still have all of your male advantage.”

Conservative critics have faulted the LAFD’s DEI program funding for the city’s apparent lack of preparedness to battle multiple massive wildfires that erupted last week and are still burning 45 square miles in LA County.

Outraged Angelinos have called on LA Mayor Karen Bass to resign over the department’s response to the blazes after city leadership slashed LAFD’s budget by $17.6 million last year.

The significant budget cuts prompted Chief Crowley to pen a memo in December to city leaders warning that “the reduction … has severely limited the department’s capacity to prepare for, train for, and respond to large-scale emergencies, including wildfires.
