Meghan McCain Slams Carrie Coon For “Showing Her T*** To Everyone” On ‘White Lotus’ In Bitter Twitter Feud

The rift between Mike White and theme song composer Cristobal Tapia de Veer isn’t the only White Lotus feud bubbling over this week — Meghan McCain has officially entered the chat, and she’s taking shots at Carrie Coon.

The conservative commentator and former co-host of The View accused Coon, who plays Laurie in one third of White Lotus‘ toxic trio, of “sleeping with hotel staff and showing her tits to everyone” in her character’s arc on the show.

Her tweet was in response to a story from The Independent reporting that Coon said McCain was likely “gratified” by this season of the show following an earlier online conflict between the two.

“Yes Carrie, I am ‘gratified’ that the conservative character represented on White Lotus is the responsible, family oriented one not making a fool of herself,” McCain tweeted. “Unlike the progressive liberal you’re representing who is sleeping with hotel staff and showing her tits to everyone.”

Their Twitter feud dates back to March, when McCain tweeted praise of President Donald Trump‘s State of the Union address, writing, “This is the first time I can remember crying during a state of the union. Thank you President Trump. This is so beautiful. Anyone who has been impacted by brain cancer knows how special this is.”

Her words caught the eye of Coon, who retweeted McCain and wrote, “Who’s gonna tell her?” possibly in reference to the Trump administration’s policy to cap costs for research grants at 15% at the National Institutes of Health (NIH), which researches diseases including cancer.

No matter what Coon meant by her tweet, McCain didn’t take too kindly to it and responded with a photo of Leslie Bibb‘s White Lotus character Kate from the scene in which she told her friends she voted for Trump.

This all takes us back to that “gratified” remark, which stems from another McCain tweet asking if she “should still watch White Lotus tonight since one of the stars decided to tweet some nasty crap at me.”

McCain was prompted to tweet about The White Lotus yet again after Coon told The Hollywood Reporter she thought people like McCain would feel represented by Bibb’s character.

“I do think people like Meghan McCain and her community are really gratified to see a conservative person on television. I have conservative people in my life who reached out to me to say that was an awesome conversation, because I don’t think it vilifies Kate,” Coon told THR.

And there you have it. That’s how we got the latest missive from McCain, who seems to have been tuning into this season all along.

The White Lotus Season 3 finale airs this Sunday (April 6) at 9 p.m. ET/PT on Max.
