Meghan Markle is giving us a glimpse of her rarely-seen kids – but it’s totally at odds with Prince Harry’s fears for his family’s safety, sources say.
The Duchess of Sussex posted a photo of Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet sharing a sweet holiday moment in an anniversary tribute to Prince Harry.
To celebrate their 7th wedding anniversary Monday, Markle, 43, shared a photo of a bulletin board filled with personal family memories — including a never-before seen image of Archie, 6, planting a kiss on three-year-old Lilibet’s forehead as they stood in front of a lavishly decorated Christmas tree.
“If they weren’t [on the photo board], would anyone be interested?” Questioned a royal source, as another insider familiar with the family said, “Harry is all about protecting his kids, so I can’t imagine he will be happy with this.”
Harry, 40, has made it clear his family’s security is his number one priority.
After losing an appeal over the levels of security he and his family are entitled to while in the UK, he told the BBC earlier this month, “I can’t see a world in which I would bring my wife and children back to the UK at this point.”
The renegade royal said the decision to remove his automatic security entitlement impacts him “every single day”, and has left him in a position where he can only safely return to the UK if invited by the royal family – as then he would be granted a tight-knit security cordon.
In previous pictures, Markle never shows the children’s faces apart from a few official birthday photos, but the family insider added, “Harry and Meghan have gone to great lengths to protect the kids, they rarely take them out in public places, and it’s just a bit odd that photos are starting to come out now, when they are more recognizable.”
Markle has posted a slew of photos of the kids online recently which show both have their father’s famous royal red hair.
On Mother’s Day, she posted a photo of the the children climbing on her, a scene she described as “climbing ‘mama mountain’ “, while in April she posted photos of both kids gardening, as her lifestyle brand launched.
Markle’s tribute to Harry on their seventh wedding anniversary featured approximately 40 photos giving a glimpse into their private life, including many shots of Archie and their daughter, who is nicknamed Lili.
The collage featured an ultrasound photo labeled “Archie” next to a photo of Meghan looking down at her pregnant belly. Below that was a photo of Harry with newborn Archie labeled “May 6, 2019”.
Aside from launching her brand, ‘As Ever’ and its associated Netflix show, Markle has also been open about motherhood on her new podcast.
In the latest episode of ‘Confessions of a Female Founder,’ released this week, the former actress admitted being a mom wasn’t as she had first thought.
After she married Harry in 2018, she said she had pictured herself living with him as a member of the British royal family, giving speeches “with a baby on [her] hip.”
Meghan said, “I had a whole vision. You fast-forward [and] … it was not the way I envisioned it.”
She noted that there were “a lot of external things happening by the time [she] had both pregnancies and both babies,” including her and Harry’s decision to step down as senior royals in 2020 and move from the UK to Montecito, California, where they bought a $15 million manison which has become their home base.
