Megan Moroney cancels Denver concert after 3 songs as she fights back tears

Country star Megan Moroney was forced to cancel her Colorado concert mid-set on Tuesday night, telling fans through tears she was too sick to continue performing.

The 28-year-old singer performed “Stupid,” “Medicine” and “Bless Your Heart” during her gig at Ball Arena in Denver, Colo., before she appeared visibly emotional as she apologized to the crowd and left the stage, according to fan-recorded video shared on social media.

“I am obviously extremely sick, and I thought I did everything to make myself better, and obviously, two songs in, I just can’t play this show tonight,” Moroney told the audience.

Megan Moroney, 28, cut her Denver concert short after performing just three songs at Ball Arena due to illness.

“I want to give you guys the show you deserve … I’m sorry.”

Moroney later confirmed on social media that the concert had been canceled, calling it “the hardest decision I’ve ever had to make.”

“I’m so sorry to cancel the show tonight,” she shared on her Instagram Story shortly after the performance.

“I never ever will give you guys a show that is not 100% and by song 3 I knew that I was not capable of giving that to you tonight.”

“I’m typing this as I’m quite literally bawling my eyes out in my dressing room & it hurts me so much to disappoint you all,” she added.

Moroney also announced the Denver show has been rescheduled for Aug. 27.

“I will be back August 27, and all tickets purchased for tonight’s show will be honored for the new date,” she wrote.

“If you can’t make the rescheduled date, refunds are available at the point of purchase.”

“I’ve never had to do this & I’m truly so sorry,” she concluded.

Fans at Ball Arena shared messages of support on social media after the concert was cut short.

“I was there and I thought she was joking now I’m balling she was the first ever person I saw in a concert,” one fan said.

“I was there she was so good I hope she feels better soon,” another fan posted.

Moroney is next scheduled to perform Saturday at the Moda Center in Portland, Ore. However, it is not immediately clear whether the show will go ahead as planned before the tour continues with stops in Seattle, Sacramento and Los Angeles.

The “Tennessee Orange” hitmaker has been on the road in support of her latest album “Cloud 9.”

The canceled concert came less than a week after Moroney sparked dating speculation with USMNT star Christian Pulisic, 27, when the pair were spotted together at Dierks Bentley’s Whiskey Row in Nashville.

Despite the rumors, Moroney told Cosmopolitan earlier in July that she is single.

“It’s really nice that this is one of the first tours I’ve been on where I’m not dating anyone, so I literally have no distractions,” she said.

“And that sounds really silly, but there have been a lot of big moments and fun times that have been ruined by a guy for me. It’s nice to just have a clear head.”
