Meet TE Oscar Delp, Saints No. 74 pick, who's another weapon for Tyler Shough

1 hour ago 3

The New Orleans Saints have had a strong 2026 NFL Draft so far, as they've added wide receiver Jordyn Tyson with the No. 8 pick in Round 1, and then added Georgia defensive tackle Christian Miller at No. 30 overall.

Then at No. 73 overall, the Saints selected another Georgia Bulldog in tight end Oscar Delp, according to NFL insider Jordan Schultz.

The new Saints tight end, Delp, is a 22-year-old receiving threat who will be a nice addition to a now-crowded tight end room in New Orleans.

Saints get Tyler Shough another weapon in Oscar Delp

Delp is a Senior coming out of Georgia who is 6-foot-5, 245 pounds. He joins Juwan Johnson, Noah Fant, Zair Mitchell-Praden, and Moliki Matavao in the New Orleans tight end room.

While he might not factor right away into the starting lineup over veterans in Johnson and Fant, he does have some intriguing upside that could make him a solid No. 3 tight end.

Delp caught 20 passes last season for 261 yards and one touchdown. The year prior, he caught 21 passes for 248 yards and four touchdowns.

The new receiving threat for the Saints might not factor much into the offense right away. He's more likely to begin as the third tight end at-best.

There are some questions about Delp's ability as a receiver, and he might not be involved in Kellen Moore's offense right away.

But, even if Delp is the third tight end, he will be a quality depth piece for the Saints offense in 2026, and could factor into the starting roster in 2027 and beyond once Fant or Johnson are off the roster.
