McDonald’s is selling $1 Egg McMuffins for one day only

Fans can get Egg McMuffins for an egg-stra big discount today.

Monday, Mar. 2, is National Egg McMuffin Day, and McDonald’s is serving up a deal to celebrate.

For one day only, fans can get the classic Egg McMuffin or the savory Sausage McMuffin with Egg breakfast sandwich for just $1 when ordering through the McDonald’s app.

The breakfast favorite, packed with 17-20 grams of protein, is made with Canadian bacon, a freshly cracked cage-free egg, American cheese and real dairy butter on a toasted English muffin.

The Sausage McMuffin with Egg is exactly the same, but with a sausage patty in place of Canadian bacon.

McDonald’s Egg McMuffin is an iconic breakfast menu item. In fact, the chain said that its restaurant system purchased more than 2 billion eggs in the U.S. in 2024 alone.

The menu staple revolutionized breakfast on-the-go when it was first invented in 1971 by Herb Peterson, who presented it to Ray Kroc, regarded as the “Founder of McDonald’s,” as the concept of putting an Eggs Benedict in the palm of your hand, according to McDonald’s.

“When I watched my father introduce this idea to Ray Kroc, we could not have anticipated it would become the foundation for the renowned McDonald’s breakfast menu,” Peterson’s son David said in a statement last year.

“It’s been remarkable to see people embrace this innovation over the last five decades, and now we get to share that heritage with a new generation of breakfast fans.”

McDonald’s also announced that its biggest burger ever will be rolling out nationwide tomorrow, Tuesday, Mar. 3.

The Big Arch Burger is the “most McDonald’s, McDonald’s burger” yet, per the McDonald’s Menu Spotter, featuring two quarter-pound beef patties, three slices of melted white cheddar cheese, crispy onions, slivered raw onions, lettuce, pickles and Big Arch Sauce.

Weighing in at 14 ounces total — compared to the total 3.5 ounces of a standard burger — the Big Arch Burger is the chain’s biggest burger.
