For his entire career, Matthew Stafford has been able to deal with ideal playing conditions.
The veteran quarterback has never played on a team who's home stadium wasn't a dome, allowing Stafford the ability to avoid cold weather games. However, it also means Stafford has seen his share of road cold weather contests, playing sparingly in frigid conditions throughout his career.
Stafford's experience in the NFC North gave him at least some consistent exposure to cold weather conditions. Here's a breakdown of how Stafford has performed in cold temperatures.

Matthew Stafford weather in cold weather
Although Stafford played most of his career in the NFC North, he hasn't performed well in cold weather. Leading into the Rams divisional round matchup against the Chicago Bears in 2026, Stafford was 1-9 in his last 10 games in the rain or snow.
Matthew Stafford, last 10 games outdoors in the rain/snow:
1-9 record
16 touchdowns
11 interceptions
Rams, last 10 games in Chicago:
2-8 record
-109 point differential
Current forecast for Sunday afternoon in Chicago:
20 degrees
18 mph wind gusts
55% chance of snow
It's important to note, though, that most not many of those games came while Stafford was with the Rams. Most of them were when Stafford played for the Detroit Lions, who were not the NFC power that the Rams became after the Stafford trade, but still played the Bears, Green Bay Packers, and sometimes Minnesota Vikings outdoors.
Additionally, Stafford improved over the course of his career in the cold weather, as he produced 14 touchdowns and two interceptions in seven cold-weather games between 2015 and 2024.
I (and @RamsBrothers) have been inundated with people letting us know Matthew Stafford is 1-8 in "rain/snow" games (however that is defined).
What I can tell you is Stafford has been just fine in cold weather game.

Stafford and the Rams did play a playoff game in the snow against the Philadelphia Eagles in 2025. While the Eagles won the game, the Rams gave the eventual Super Bowl champions their biggest test of the playoffs.
For his entire career, Stafford has played his home games in a dome, first at Ford Field in Detroit then at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles. Therefore, while Stafford has played his share of games in cold weather, he never had to deal with a cold weather home field.
