The Los Angeles Rams lost embarrassingly to the Arizona Cardinals in Week 6. Their offense struggled to move the ball, and the Rams didn't have a kicker for most of the game either.

It was a mess for the Rams in Week 6, and with their loss to the Cardinals, they've fallen to 2-4. A lot of blame can be put on Sean McVay, but Matthew Stafford's play also deserves some criticism, especially with one key statistic in mind.

ESPN's Ben Solak shared a brutal stat for Stafford, which revealed that the Rams' QB had a similar passing mark to what Bo Nix of the Denver Broncos did on Thursday Night Football, which got fans and analysts around the league frustrated with Nix.

Matthew Stafford repeats Bo Nix's mistake with brutal passing mark

"Matthew Stafford had 4.8 air yards per attempt against the Cardinals, his third-lowest mark of any start with the Rams," Solak shared. "Only 24% of his throws went beyond the line to gain, the lowest he's had in a game since the 2018 season."

That statistic from Solak already looks quite bleak, but putting it into context only makes Stafford's Week 6 performance all the more confounding.

This season, Nix has a 4.9 air yards per attempt, which is ranked last in the NFL among 701 quarterbacks across the last 20 years, according to Doug Clawson of CBS Sports.

Following Nix's Thursday Night Football performance, where his longest completion of the game went just 7.6 air yards, NFL analysts and former players bashed Nix.

Ryan Fitzpatrick even went as far as to say that Nix was disrespecting the quarterback position. But with what Stafford just did, there hasn't been nearly as much backlash.

Ironically, the Broncos won their game with Nix having such egregious passing numbers, whereas the Rams lost their matchup in a huge upset loss with such a poor day from Stafford.

While Stafford isn't putting out this kind of game consistently, and he's a much better QB than Nix based on their career resumes, Stafford deserves plenty of flak for the team's Week 6 loss to the Cardinals.

Stafford had a Nix-esque performance against the Cardinals, but has dodged the harsh reaction afterwards. Stafford needs to be better for the Rams if they want a chance to win anything this season.
