On the same day Mike McDaniel benched Tua Tagovailoa, the Miami Dolphins cut veteran edge rusher Matthew Judon. The linebacker joined the Dolphins ahead of the 2025 season, following a 2024 campaign with the Atlanta Falcons.

Judon played 13 games for his fourth team in the NFL, recording 19 tackles and one pass defended with the AFC East team. While he didn't record a single sack, Judon has registered seven quarterback pressures, showing that he can get close to the opposing playmaker.

Several teams could use his services, especially those looking to make a final push in the regular season and a deep playoff run.

Top 5 landing spots for Matthew Judon

1. Seattle Seahawks

The Seattle Seahawks already have one of the best defenses in the NFL. They rank fourth with 42 total sacks, which has helped them post an 11-3 record. They have the chance to secure the NFC West title on Thursday against the LA Rams, but first, they could make a splash and sign Matthew Judon to bolster their defense.

2. New England Patriots

This won't be the first reunion Matthew Judon can complete this season. The New England Patriots have a terrific defense, too. They found a clear identity under Mike Vrabel. He recorded 133 tackles with 32 sacks and two fumble recoveries in 38 games with the Patriots. His presence would give the team a boost down the stretch.

3. Baltimore Ravens

This is the second reunion we would like to see. Judon started his career with the Baltimore Ravens in 2016. The Ravens are still alive in the AFC North race and adding a veteran presence to the defense would help their cause. Judon recorded 236 tackles with 34.5 sacks and two fumble recoveries in 76 games with the Ravens.

4. Buffalo Bills

Seeing Matthew Judon on the Bills would be upsetting for the Patriots, but Sean McDermott's team can benefit from adding the veteran. Buffalo look like serious contenders this season and they can use all the help available to achieve their goal. They failed to land Darius Slay a couple of weeks ago, and things could be better with Judon.

5. San Francisco 49ers

The San Francisco 49ers have remained competitive despite suffering several injuries to their defense. They have recorded just 16 sacks this season, which rank last in the league. Judon's presence could re-energize the 49ers' defense and put pressure on opponents down the stretch.
