Matt Rhule’s latest recruiting move has Arizona State reeling

Matt Rhule keeps stacking wins on the recruiting trail — and his latest might be one of the biggest yet.

On Friday afternoon, Nebraska flipped four-star wide receiver Nailin Scott away from Arizona State, delivering a major blow to Kenny Dillingham and the Sun Devils. He had been committed since April, but that all changed thanks to Rhule and his staff turning up the heat.

The Sun Devils desperately need wideouts — almost as badly as Nebraska. But this time, it’s the Cornhuskers who got it done.

The 6-foot-2 Scott is a four-star prospect, ranked the No. 72 wide receiver in the country and the No. 54 player in Georgia, according to 247Sports. He’s from Powder Springs, Georgia, and was heavily recruited by Nebraska wide receivers coach Daikiel Shorts and secondary coach Addison Williams.

Rhule made Scott a priority, and it paid off. Even after his commitment to Arizona State, Nebraska stayed in the picture and finally sealed the deal.

Scott held offers from heavyweights like Georgia, Auburn, LSU, and Florida — making this flip even more impressive for Nebraska. It’s an important addition for the program as Rhule works to reshape the offense around Dylan Raiola

There’s still work to do, but moves like this make one thing clear: Nebraska isn’t backing down from anyone.
