Nebraska Huskers football coach Matt Rhule is standing up for his family after an ugly incident following the team's latest loss. Following Nebraska's 17-10 defeat to Washington on Saturday, Rhule revealed that a fan approached his 13-year-old daughter and directed profanity at her because of her father's job.

"A guy walked up to my 13-year-old daughter and was like, 'F-U and F your dad.' I'm not going to keep coaching if it means my kids grow up screwed up," Rhule said, according to The Athletic's Mitch Sherman.

The incident comes during a difficult stretch for Nebraska. After opening the season undefeated at 5-0, the Huskers have dropped three straight games in Big Ten play. Nebraska suffered losses to No. 7 Indiana and Oregon before falling to Washington in another heartbreaking finish. No matter how anyone can try to frame it, there have been no late-game heroics for the Huskers.

Nebraska held a fourth-quarter lead in all three losses. Only this time around, the frustration surrounding the program is starting to grow. However, Rhule made it clear he had no intention of quitting.

"I'm not leaving. I'm not quitting. I'm fighting for those people," Rhule said about his players.

Nebraska now faces another challenging test Friday against Illinois. For a team that once appeared to be making progress in the Big Ten, getting to a bowl game might not be easy. After facing the Fighting Illini in Champaign, the Huskers will play Rutgers, Ohio State and Iowa in the final month of the season.
