Mason Miller might be the most dominant pitch-to-pitch pitcher in the history of baseball.
Right now, he's the closer for the San Diego Padres, but if they decide to sell, he'd be a massive name on the trade block.
And some of the rumors are already circulating -- they link Mason Miller to the New York Yankees.
The New York Post's Jon Heyman, among others, have speculated on that being a good fit.
The idea is out there enough that Miller was even asked about it before the All-Star Game during his session with the media.
Miller gave a smooth, simple answer.
“It’s a compliment,” Miller told reporters. “They’re a very good team, and they’re interested in good players.”

This time of year, that's about the best thing a player could say about another team wanting them.
It doesn't really give any indication to how Miller feels specifically about the Yankees, other than his basic acknowledgement that they're a "very good team."
The Yankees made a bunch of bullpen moves at least year's trade deadline, but they didn't all work out.
This season, they've pieced together a workable bullpen, but an overpowering force like Miller would be a total game changer.
If the Padres decide to trade Miller, this reality could simply come down to whether the Yankees are willing to pay what San Diego wants.
If they pull it off, the Yankees would enter October with the scariest ninth-inning weapon there is.
