Masked men storm Gilgo Beach serial killer’s front door in eerie footage

Two masked men stormed the Gilgo Beach serial killer’s Long Island house of horrors in what his ex-wife called an attempted break-in — but may have simply been a ding-dong-ditch prank.

The trespassers, who appear to be teenagers in ski-masks, were caught on doorbell camera footage ringing the bell and immediately taking off from the front porch, as Heuermann’s ex-wife, Asa Ellerup, and their two children were inside, according to video and statements obtained by Newsday.

“This is the constant harassment that [Ellerup] faces on a daily basis, with people driving by, saying stuff as they walk by,” the family’s attorney, Robert Macedonio said, according to the outlet.

“They leave stuff on the door or throw stuff. They make comments when they drive by, pointing, and taking pictures on a regular basis,” he added.

The family filed a police report after the incident, and believes the pair were attempting to breakin when their barking Lab mix named Stewie could be heard barking loudly in the video after they rang the bell.

However, the dog appears to start barking after the pair already running off, according to the video.

Nassau County cops said the incident wasn’t enough to warrant a attempted break-in charge, according to the outlet.

Nassau police later sent a patrol car around the neighborhood searching for the pair, but did not find them, the outlet reported.

Heuermann, 62, admitted last month to strangling eight women between 1993 and 2010, and was sentenced to multiple, consecutive life sentences in prison without the possibility of parole.

Nassau police and Ellerup’s attorney didn’t respond to requests for comment.
