Markwayne Mullin sworn in as Trump’s new homeland security secretary

President Trump hosted Markwayne Mullin at the White House for a swearing-in ceremony to become his new Homeland Security secretary, praising him as “fantastic” for the job.

“Everybody wanted this job. I said there’s one man for this job and I have no doubt he’s going to be fantastic,” Trump said.

Attorney General Pam Bondi formally administered the oath in the Oval Office as Trump and Mullin’s family stood by.

“I think that was the most nervous I’ve ever been,” Mullin said afterward.

Trump fired Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem earlier this month.
