Mark Daigneault admits OKC's approach in Game 3 hurt them in the blowout loss

The Oklahoma City Thunder had an uncharacteristic loss in Game 4 on Sunday against the San Antonio Spurs. Most people have become familiar with the Thunder while knowing they are a dominant side.

That was not the case in Game 4 of the Western Conference Finals because the Spurs imposed their will on the Thunder. It was a monumental win as the series is all tied up at two wins apiece.

Mark Daigneault digs into the issues that led to OKC's Game 4 blowout loss

As the defending champions, the Thunder have high expectations when they enter any arena. After beating the Spurs on the road in Game 3, the Thunder could have had an even better result in Game 4.

That was not the case because the Spurs had a dominant performance. Victor Wembanyama was at the center of their success. The Spurs were superb, while the Thunder had a performance that most people do not expect to see.

Coach Daigneault was disappointed about the performance because he knows the Thunder are capable of doing more. However,  he is not too doom and gloom, as he knows the Thunder can bounce back from this.

"I just thought the overall global approach offensively tonight didn’t benefit anybody. It was more of a five-man issue. Again, San Antonio playing really good defense, a combination of us not being as sharp as we could have been and San Antonio being really good," Daigneault said in his post-game presser after Game 4.

The Thunder were not as sharp as they usually are. Now that they are headed back to OKC for Game 5, they will want redemption. They have the home crowd spurring them on, but they have to be careful because San Antonio already have one win on the road in this series.
