The Seattle Mariners and Cincinnati Reds have both invited the same person to their trade reunion.
But the party is at the same time. Only one contender trying to chase down a playoff spot can get their guy.
Who will get Eugenio Suarez?
It might not even be one of these two teams. The Yankees are a prime candidate to get Suarez, too.
He already has 31 home runs this season for the Arizona Diamondbacks and will be coveted for the next couple of weeks.
Suarez is so notable that in The Athletic's bold trade deadline predictions, they have the Mariners and Reds both predicted to get Suarez.

The Mariners have one main advantage: their farm system. Seattle has more top-100 prospects than any team in baseball, according to MLB Pipeline. The Mariners can put together a better offer than anyone else, if they feel Suarez is worth it.
The Reds have young talent rising through the minors, too.
This could come down to a matter of preference for the Diamondbacks. Not even going by lists, but just who does Arizona want coming back their way the most? That could determine where Suarez winds up, and in turn, have a huge impact on playoff races.
