Eugenio Suarez hasn't had the Seattle Mariners tenure he would've wanted when moved from Arizona at the trade deadline.
But on Wednesday night, Suarez launched a home run, his 10th with Seattle. Maybe it's a sign he'll heat up for the final stretch here.
Even if he doesn't, Suarez has already placed himself in second place on a cool MLB home run leaderboard.
The list, shared by MLB Network's Sarah Langs, ranks hitters for home runs hit in a season in which they played for two teams.
Suarez now has 46 homers (36 with Arizona, 10 with Seattle).
He broke a tie with 2017 J.D. Martinez, who had hit 45.
The only guy ahead of Suarez? Mark McGwire, and he won't be caught this season.
In 1997, when McGwire moved from the Athletics to the Cardinals, he blasted a combined 58 homers.
Other notable names in the top-five are 2000 David Justice (41) and 1996 Greg Vaughn (41).
It's a quirky mix, because most of the big home run seasons involved players in situations where they never would've been moved midseason.
But contracts and team contention levels can occasionally lead to such a trade, like with Suarez here in the final season of his contract.
And now he'll go down as the second best slugger season ever to have been traded in the middle of a campaign. That's pretty darn cool.
