Mariners’ Bryan Woo ties Randy Johnson’s 32-year old franchise record for Seattle pitching consistency

Call him Mr. Reliable.

The Seattle Mariners know what they're going to get every time Bryan Woo takes the mound.

So far this season, Woo has made 20 starts. In every single start he has lasted at least 6.0 innings.

That ties Randy Johnson's franchise record for consecutive starts of six-plus innings to begin a season. The Big Unit did that back in 1993, according to The Seattle Times.

Woo is part of a standout, youthful rotation that has Seattle in the playoff picture alongside the likes of Logan Gilbert and George Kirby to go with the established Luis Castillo.

The right-handed Woo's consistency has come with results, too. He has a 2.91 ERA, 121 strikeouts and a 0.95 WHIP.

This was the hope for Woo after he put up a 2.89 ERA last season, but he didn't pitch the full campaign, only finishing with 121 innings. He has already surpassed that amount this year, and he's proven that he can do it each and every time he takes the mound.

At this point, you certainly wouldn't bet against Woo breaking Johnson's mark and keeping this consistency rolling.
