Manningcast guest list today: Here's who will join Peyton, Eli Manning for NFL wild-card game

17 hours ago 1

Wild-card weekend of this year's NFL playoffs concludes with a showdown between the Vikings and Rams on "Monday Night Football." As such, Peyton and Eli Manning will be on the call one last time for the final Manningcast of the season.

The wild-card weekend installment marks the 11th Manningcast since Week 1 of the 2024 NFL season, the brothers' third with an alternate broadcast on ESPN. As part of the unique nature of their alternate broadcasts, the brothers engage in sibling banter and welcome various guests from inside and outside the football world.

The final guest list is short but powerful. Wild-card weekend will feature a 2024 regular-season mainstay who may have to taper future appearances as well as one of the greatest to ever put on a Vikings uniform.

Here's what to know about the guest list for Monday night's playoff game between L.A. and Minnesota.

  • Bill Belichick, North Carolina Tar Heels head football coach
  • Jared Allen, former NFL defensive end

Bill Belichick

Belichick began his foray into the NFL media space after he and the Patriots parted ways following the 2023 NFL season. As such, he became a regular on weekly editions of the Manningcast.

Two days after Belichick's final Manningcast during the regular season, he officially returned to coaching by accepting the job at UNC.

Because Belichick is set to deal with the demands of being the head coach of a Power 4 Division I college football program, it is unclear if he will continue to have a large role in the Manningcast. He will, however, have a forum to discuss his new job with the brothers since Monday marks his first Manningcast appearance since taking the new job.

Of course, Belichick's one of the most knowledgeable football minds ever, and his analysis will be even more finely tuned for a postseason game.

Jared Allen

Allen, 42, is nearing a decade into retirement from the NFL. Some of his most notable years came in a Vikings uniform.

After spending the first four seasons of his career with the Chiefs, Allen's career reached another stratosphere in Minnesota. Over six seasons as a Viking, Allen racked up four first-team All-Pro selections and was a part of some of Minnesota's most successful teams. He also holds the franchise's single-season sacks record with 22, set in 2011.

Allen's history gives him a unique perspective to provide commentary on a Vikings playoff game. He suited up for five playoff games with Minnesota, including the run that ended with heartbreak in the 2010 NFC Championship Game.

Allen also has a big personality and will be additive to the dynamic between Peyton and Eli.
